Amazon to Create 400 Jobs in Arlington This Yeare

POSTED May 14, 2019

Seattle-based Internet giant Amazon chose Arlington, VA, as the location for the company's second headquarters earlier this year.

Ardine Williams, Amazon's Vice President of Workforce Development, announced late last month it is on pace to create 400 new jobs this year in Arlington and a total of 25,000 over the next decade plus.

Amazon has begun hiring and leasing office space in the area. It expects to welcome new employees to temporary office space on Crystal Drive in June as it works toward opening its first building this fall.

These are the current job listings available for the Arlington Headquarters.

The company also recently announced it will support funding for intro and AP computer science classes in 27 schools across Virginia as part of the Amazon Future Engineer program -- a childhood-to-career program to inspire, educate and propel children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities to pursue careers in computer science.
